What time do they announce the USA Powerball winners?
Powerball draws occur every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 11 p.m. EST.
Soon after the draws took place, you can check the USA Powerball results online right here and see if you became one of Powerball’s winners!
If you match the 5 main numbers (from a range of 1 to 69 – in white on our results) and the Powerball ( from a range of 1 to 26 – in yellow above), you win Powerball’s jackpot!
If you match some of the numbers only, you can still win one of the 8 secondary prizes of the USA Powerball.
Important notice: if you play US Powerball, make sure to get your ticket before the cutoff time (10.00pm, in most US states).

Here’s how to check your USA Powerball results:
- Check the 5 main numbers
To start, you need to identify the 5 main numbers on your Powerball ticket, those between 1 and 69.
- Check the Powerball
Then you have to check the additional number, the Powerball.
- If these 6 numbers match – you win the Powerball jackpot!
If these 6 numbers match = you win Powerball’s Jackpot!
However, even if you didn’t guess ALL the numbers, we advise you to double check all the numbers! Powerball offers 9 prize categories overall! Plenty enough to win several great prizes! You can even win a Powerball prize by guessing only 2 of the main numbers!
- Check the date of the draw
To make sure you have the right ticket in hands, we advise you to double check the date of the draw against the date on your ticket.
- Powerball numbers are not interchangeable: the reason for which you need to check the main numbers and Powerball number separately is because these numbers are not interchangeable as they are pulled out from different drums.
- The Powerball Power Play number is displayed in the USA Powerball results but you won’t find it on your ticket: the reason is that you don’t choose the Power Play. You can tick the multiplier box to activate the option when you buy your Powerball ticket (for a small fee). If the option was activated, you can check the Power Play value after realizing you scooped one of the Powerball’s secondary prizes.
How Are the Powerball Numbers Drawn?
Powerball draws are random, this is why Powerball officials use gravity pick machines to draw the numbers, it is the safest and most random system there is. When the draws take place, balls are in full sight at all times. An other advantage is that each ball weights exactly the same so that they all have an equal chance to be selected.
The 5 main numbers are drawn first from the main drum including 69 balls. Then, the Powerball number is drawn from a separate drum, including 26 balls. In the end, the Power Play is drawn. If the jackpot does not exceed USD 150 Million, this drum will include the Power Plays x2, x3, x4, x5 and x10 while when the jackpot exceeds USD 150 Million, the drum will only include the Power Plays x2, x3, x4 and x5.

No, you can’t. For you to scoop a prize, you have to have a matching date on your ticket to the draw you are checking. A Powerball ticket is valid for a single draw.
